- Abstract
- The proposed volume aims to explore how truth, lies and deception is expressed in language and discourse. It results from a workshop at the SLE 2024 in Helsinki, where several of the contributors were present to give presentations that serve as grounds for their papers in the present proposal. The contributions of the proposed volume explore the conceptual domains of truth, lies and deception in single languages and across languages with a clear focus on lexicon, grammar, and discourse. Areas of research and issues that situate these contributions include: Lexicalization, cultural practices and language use, diachrony and grammaticalization.
