Abstract
Agile software development methodologies are mostly constituted of as a set of managerial guidelines and concepts not bounded to software development paradigms. Some of these like eXtreme Programming (XP) and the SCRUM are driven by operational requirements representation models/artifacts called User Stories (US). These US can be used as an anchoring point to agile methods; this means that we could use a US set to drive a software transformation approach to a particular development paradigm like agent-orientation. This paper presents a process plug-in for Multi-Agent System (MAS) development in agile methods based on US sets. The process plug-in takes advantage of an initial set of US to build a reasoning diagram (called the Rationale Diagram typically several are built for a single project) that document decompositions and means-end alternatives in scenarios for requirements realization. A Rationale Diagram can then be aligned with a MAS architectural design and implemented in an agent-oriented development language. The process plug-in is made out of three stages: Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design and Implementation. Transformation from one stage to the other is overseen in this paper and illustrated on a case study.
