- A multi criteria approach to the Design-For-Manufacturability problem is presented, in which a decision support system brings issues of vital interest in manufacturing, production planning, and maintenance to the knowledge of the designer, while not hampering creativity and flexibility. The proposed approach also serves the purpose of forming a modern methodology for collaboration between departments in the product development process. A non-linear compromise programming algorithm with simplified operation is suggested as support for the methodology.
