Abstract
Lamellar precipitates are formed by internal oxidation in the CoNi(20) Cr(20) alloys containing aluminium and some additional elements in low concentrations. These have a beneficial effect by increasing the tensile strength without loss of ductility of the alloys. The alloy powders are treated by internal oxidation under an extremely low pressure of oxygen in an equilibrium system of H/sub 2/-H/sub 2 /O. The composite materials, reinforced by the lamellar precipitates, can then be prepared from these powders.
