Interculturalidad crítica y sujetos políticos decoloniales : un análisis del potencial decolonial de las políticas de educación superior bajo los gobiernos alternativos de Bolivia y Ecuador, 2005-2017
(en) This thesis examines decolonial perspectives and Latin American critical thought. It presents a conceptual discussion of interculturality within the indigenous intercultural higher education systems of Bolivia and Ecuador, throughout the governments of the Movement for Socialism and Alianza PAIS during the period from 2005 to 2017.
The research contributes to theoretical reflection by distinguishing conceptually between multiculturalism, functional interculturality, and critical interculturality. It also enriches the methodological discussion in the social and political sciences by developing innovative tools grounded in critical hermeneutics and comparative methods. The analysis of indigenous intercultural universities in Bolivia and Ecuador is deepened by the dialogues conducted during fieldwork between 2022 and 2023, carried out at the Bolivian Quechua Intercultural University "Casimiro Huanca" in Bolivia and the Amawtay Wasi University of Indigenous Nationalities and Peoples in Ecuador.
The thesis further explores the relationships between indigenous movements and the alternative governments of Bolivia and Ecuador, as well as the contributions of decolonial perspectives to reforms of political constitutions and intercultural higher education systems in both countries.
