Measurements performed on the in-plane thermoelectric power of first-stage graphite-acceptor intercalation compounds in the temperature range 3</b T/<300 K are reported. At high temperature, the thermoelectric power is close to that obtained for higher-stage compounds while in the lower-temperature range it drops rapidly to a negligibly small value. These low-temperature results suggest that defect scattering in first-stage compounds is qualitatively different from that of higher stages. The temperature dependence of the in-plane thermal conductivity is also reported.
