(en) [Specific features of sleep apnea syndrome in the type 2 diabetic patient] Obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAS) is a common, often overlooked, co-morbidity of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). OSAS is associated with overweight/obesity, androidtype adiposity, and the metabolic syndrome phenotype. OSAS screening and documentation are generally better in men. There is a marked sexual dimorphism concerning OSAS in T2DM patients, including GAD65 antibody prevalence.
